Wałęsa about Protasiewicz: He is simply an ignorant politician. He destroys his friends, he is not interested in the country
– The country's interest is not important to him. He destroys his colleagues who may have made mistakes, but they are going in the right direction. Apparently we have not developed wise, patriotic behavior in society. He is simply an uneducated politician – says Lech Wałęsa in an interview with “Wprost” Jacek Protasiewcza's recent online activity. The former president also refers to Marcin Kierwiński's famous speech and says what he thinks about the presidents of Tricity.
Agnieszka Niełościowska, “Wprost”: Do you already have your picks for the European Parliament elections? How do you evaluate this campaign in general?
Lech Walesa: I haven't thought about who exactly I will vote for yet. As for the campaign, there are two concepts here. The first, completely frivolous, by Kaczyński. The second one, more sophisticated, by Tusk.
Meaning?
The Prime Minister puts on lists of famous and good people. President of PiS – famous, but worthless. We will see which concept will win, amateurism or a well-thought-out strategy.
Tusk chose the first suit of ministers of key ministries. But is it good?
Exceptionally good. He chose the best specialists. The question is to what extent society can choose. Even before Tusk announced the list, I said I supported him.
Do you also support Marcin Kierwiński? Apparently, Donald Tusk is not satisfied with the start of the campaign and the speech of the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration at Piłsudski Square.
I see it differently. It was cold, the guy was unlucky. The tongue did not listen to him. I think so. I don't think alcohol was involved. But what should he do now? He explained himself. He wasn't drunk, he was just tongue-tied with emotion. I know he's not an alcoholic and doesn't drink much. He's not that kind of man.
