Polish tourists went on a pontoon trip. They will remember it for a long time

Three tourists decided to go on a small dinghy expedition. The trip will cost them a lot.
On July 12, Border Guard cameras recorded three people sailing in a rubber dinghy. As it turned out, they were tourists from Kętrzyn County and Gdańsk. The men, aged 50 and 56, as well as a 17-year-old in their care, decided to enter the waters of the Russian Federation and then turn back to the Polish side.
In the process, they did not pay any attention to the markings on the border. After being noticed by Border Guard officers, they explained that they had not seen the markings. For the offense committed, two adult men were fined 500 PLN each.

The Border Guard also reminded that the regulations regarding crossing the Polish-Russian border also apply to border waters.
“Once again, we appeal to pay attention to information boards and markings of the state border during tourist trips. Border Guard officers warn of criminal consequences in the event of crossing the state border in places not designated for this purpose, entering/driving onto the border road strip, or photographing the neighboring side,” the press release reads.
The border guards added that such behaviour constitutes punishable acts specified in the Code of Petty Offences and is punishable by a fine of up to PLN 500.
