The new season of the Ski Jumping World Cup is fast approaching. The first competition will be held in Ruka, Finland, on November 24-26. The White and Reds did not waste their time before winter and after a regeneration training camp in Cyprus, they went to Lillehammer, Norway, where they jumped in snowy conditions.
Bad news about Dawid Kubacki’s health
Before the inauguration of the Ski Jumping World Cup, the jumpers held a meeting with journalists. Interia took part in this event and informed that Dawid Kubacki, who had previously resigned from the training camp in Cyprus to spend time with his family, was absent from this meeting.
The coach of the A team, Thomas Thurnbichler, commented on the lack of our jumper’s presence and revealed the reason for Dawid Kubacki’s absence. – Everyone is physically ready for the season. The competitors jump at a high level just before the inauguration. We focus on ourselves and a good start to winter, he said, quoted by Interia.
– Unfortunately, Dawid Kubacki is sick. He has a high temperature and for this reason he could not participate in the meeting with the media, he revealed.
– It’s a minor infection. So far, he has performed very well during training in Lillehammer, he added.
Is Dawid Kubacki’s participation in the competition in Ruka at risk?
Everything indicates that Dawid Kubacki’s illness is not serious and he may return to training soon. The Austrian also commented on whether the infection would prevent him from taking part in the competition in Ruka.
– There is even a chance that he will play in Friday’s training. I am sure that there will be no problem with his performance in the inaugural competition, assured the coach of the Polish team.
