This duo will carry the Polish flag at the Paris Olympics. It’s a great decision!
Anita Włodarczyk (hammer throw) and Przemysław Zamojski (3×3 basketball) will be the standard-bearer for the Polish team at the Olympic Games in Paris.
The Polish Olympic Committee has scheduled an official reveal of cards for Monday (July 15), both in terms of the Olympic team at the 2024 Olympic Games and several specific pieces of information regarding the details of the white-and-red delegation.
Paris 2024: Anita Włodarczyk and Przemysław Zamojski with the Polish flag
Anita Włodarczyk is a multi-medalist, not only Olympic, who does not need much introduction in world sports. The hammer thrower won three gold medals at the games (London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2021), and in Paris she will want to attack for the fourth time, fighting for a beautiful crowning of her career.
The decision by the Polish Olympic Committee to make the “Golden Anita” the standard-bearer of the Polish national team at the games in the capital of France seems to be a very good choice. Similarly, as in the case of the second of the distinguished duo, Przemysław Zamojski. He is a basketball player playing for the 3×3 team, who has been crucial to both the results and the development of the national team over the years. Zamojski will have the opportunity to form a duo with Włodarczyk, who knows, maybe it will end with a medal for basketball in the Olympics?
XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris from July 26
The capital of France has already hosted the Summer Olympics twice in the history of Olympism. Paris hosted the most important sports event a long time ago, in 1900 and 1924. The International Olympic Committee decided that exactly one hundred years after the last time it was held on Parisian soil, the heart of France would once again be the main arena for the Summer Games.
The slogan of the 2024 Olympic Games is: “Wide Open Games”. From Wednesday, July 24 (opening ceremony July 26) to Sunday, August 11, a total of 329 events will be held in 32 sports. A total of over 10,000 female and male athletes will take part in the Olympic competition. Interestingly, in Paris, there will be full equality, exactly 50 percent of female and male participants at the games.
The Polish team won a total of 14 medals at the last Olympic Games, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). They included four gold medals and five silver and bronze medals.
In Paris, we will see a total of 213 people in white and red colors. 113 women and 100 men, for the first time in history there will be more women at the summer Olympics than men in the Polish team. It is worth adding that the Polish team will also have 251 collaborators, including 110 coaches.
