Further details of Harald Rodlauer's departure from the A women's national team are coming to light. As it turns out, Adam Małysz wanted to keep the Austrian at all costs. He even offered him another position.

Harald Rodlauer decided to leave the women's ski team after a year. One of the best coaches in this sport admitted that the reason for ending the cooperation was the fact that he would not be able to meet the expectations related to this team in the next two years.

Harald Rodlauer about his departure from the Polish federation

– The budget was very high, I must admit it honestly. The players really learned a lot and accepted the changes over the past year, but each of them lacked the basics – he said in an interview for skijumping.pl.

In an interview with “Kleine Zeitung” he stated that he knew it would be a difficult project. – But I didn't know how far Polish athletes were from the world leaders – both technically and physically – he continued.

Adam Małysz wanted to stop Harald Rodlauer

The laola1.at website reported that Adam Małysz, the ski jumping legend and president of the Polish Ski Association, wanted to keep Rodlauer, but in a different role. “The four-time World Cup winner offered him the job of sports director, but the Austrian refused,” we read.

Harald Rodlauer could not complain about the lack of work for long. The Austrian, together with a physiotherapist and motor preparation trainer – Theresa Koren, have already started working in the Italian federation. – I can't wait for the new task, we have the first training camp in two weeks – said Rodlauer on laola1.at.

– Now I will work together with Theresa for the Italian Ski Association, where I will also take care of the ski jumping team. However, this offer was not the reason for my departure from PZN – he assured in an interview for skijumping.pl.

Marcin Bachleda is the new coach of the A Women's National Team in ski jumping. In the 2024/25 season, Stefan Hula will be his assistant.
