– Last year, Iga won so many sets 6-0, so it was one of my goals to try to get closer to her – admitted the tennis player born in Minsk with a smile.

She managed to add two “bagels” (i.e. 6-0 wins in a set) to her list, thanks to a very impressive win over the Ukrainian. Łesia Tsurenko could only admire Sabalenka’s performances on the court in Melbourne.

The scenario of the final between Świątek and the Belarusian seems very realistic, although there is still a long way to go.

The WTA ranking leader from Raszyn near Warsaw will return to the court on the seventh day of the AO 2024 competition. The Pole will face the Czech Linda Noskova.
