Marek Papszun being tried for a well-known club in England. A blockbuster move is coming

Marek Papszun – coach in England? According to Teamtalk.com, the Polish coach may be a candidate to take over the Sunderland team.

Since the end of the 2022/23 season, Marek Papszun has been unemployed as a coach. The former coach of Raków Częstochowa certainly does not complain about the lack of classes, even as a television expert. It is possible that Papszun will soon return to the coaching carousel and his choice will be the English league.

Marek Papszun will be the new coach of Sunderland?

According to Teamtalk.com, the tenth team in the Championship, the direct base of the Premier League, is interested in the Polish coach. Sunderland are four points away from qualifying for the promotion play-offs. This is the situation after 33 rounds, and there are still a lot of games left to play, because the league has as many as 24 teams.

After the quick dismissal of previous coach Michael Beale after just nine weeks in charge, Sunderland are frantically looking for a new coach.

“It is worth paying attention to Polish coach Marek Papszun, who would like to talk to the club. In recent months, he has been approached by several clubs from the UK and Saudi Arabia,” we read on Teamtalk.com.

If Marek Papszun were to actually take over Sunderland, it could be a hit move on the coaching market, taking into account the Polish training idea. For years, there has been a lack of Polish coaches blazing new trails in the strongest leagues.

Raków Częstochowa with historical results

It is worth recalling that Papszun was the coach of the club from Jasna Góra in the years 2016-23. The Warsaw native started working at Raków level in the second league. Step by step, season by season, the coach developed along with the increasingly better organized club from Częstochowa, both in terms of sports and off the field.

With Papszun on the coaching bench, Raków was promoted from the second league to the elite team, and then to the PKO BP Ekstraklasa itself. The Częstochowa team won two Polish runner-up championships (2021 and 2022), as well as the same number of Super Cups (2021 and 2022) and national cups (2021 and 2022). And finally, the long-awaited championship title in Poland, in the 2022/23 season.
