Fernando Santos surprised. We have learned about the call-ups to the Polish national team for the September matches

On August 31, we learned the list of players called up for the upcoming national team training camp. In September, the White and Reds will play against the Faroe Islands and Albania and these will be extremely important matches in the context of the future fate of our national team.

More matches of the Polish national team in the European Championship qualifiers are ahead of us. Therefore, Fernando Santos announced the list of players he intends to focus on in the September matches against the Faroe Islands and Albania.

Surprising call-ups to the Polish national team

The biggest stir was caused by two appointments – for Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kamil Grosicki, on whom the coach had not placed any emphasis so far and it seemed that their return to the national team was unrealistic. Meanwhile, the coach was a big surprise.

– My call-ups always depend on what may happen in the upcoming matches. I have always said that the door to the national team remains open to everyone who is ready. Depending on what I observe and what our meetings look like, I consider options and think about what will be good for the team – this is how Santos commented on the two previously mentioned returns to the team.

In addition, the call-ups for players such as Adrian Benedyczak and Kacper Kozłowski are a big surprise, because they are quite unobvious and previously these young players were not among the coach’s interests.
