Bartosz Arłukowicz returned to the Sejm after the break. “They treat me like a freshman now.”

Bartosz Arłukowicz returned from Brussels to Wiejska after four years. – The collision with Czarnek, Ziobro and Wójcik brings a man back to earth – said the PO deputy chairman.

After almost four years of sitting in the European Parliament, Bartosz Arłukowicz ran in the parliamentary elections and got into the Sejm. Before becoming an MEP, the PO politician was an MP for three terms.

Arłukowicz: They treat me like a freshman now

– They treat me like a freshman now. Officials and the entire parliamentary bureaucracy treat me as if I was there for the first time. I have to undergo dozens of trainings, sign pieces of paper, etc. It amuses me a bit, because I know the Sejm very well, like the back of my hand, because I was in it for 12 years – said Arłukowicz on TVN24.

The MP compared the standards in the Polish Sejm and the European Parliament. – I had many difficult parliamentary debates, really difficult things happened, but I went to the European Parliament, I was there for four years, I got to know a slightly different European and world politics and after returning, the collision with Czarnek, Ziobro and Wójcik brings a person back to earth – said Arłukowicz, referring to Tuesday’s debate on the election of members of the National Council of the Judiciary from the Sejm.

As he pointed out, “political battles also took place in the European Parliament, but it had a slightly different diplomatic dimension.” – When looking for diplomacy from ministers Ziobro, Czarnek or Kaleta, it is a free job – he added.

A short break for the Sejm?

Arłukowicz was also asked whether he returned to the Sejm only for a few months and would run again in the European Parliament elections in the spring. – I don’t know yet how life will turn out. For now, we are forming a row. This is a very difficult and complicated task, in the sense that President Duda is not helping. Time flies, weeks pass, he said.

The MP also avoided answering the question whether he could return to the position of health minister in the new government. – I know the job of the Minister of Health well, I was the Minister of Health for four years. It’s not the easiest job you can find in Poland, but I have never shied away from anything, from any responsibility, he said. – Various talks are ongoing, have been ongoing and will probably continue for a while – added Arłukowicz.
