A new ministry has started. “Not only local activities”
On March 1, a new ministry was launched – the Ministry of Industry. It will be headed by Marzena Czarnecka.
The inauguration of the Ministry of Industry was attended by the head of MAP, Borys Budka, and the Minister of Finance, Andrzej Domański. The headquarters of the ministry will be located in Katowice.
Minister Czarnecka said that the ministry will deal not only with miners. – The subject of the activity will be not only mining and metallurgy, but also oil and gas management and, of course, the nuclear policy of the Polish state. (…) It's not like we manage only Upper Silesia and the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis, but also the entire country – she said on Friday during the inauguration. – It is in my heart that people employed in industry will have an increasingly better life – she added.
–We are in Katowice, in a historic building. This is our personal success, I am talking about the inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship. We will show this region not only from the coal side, we will show that there is great potential for creative industries and energy transformation – added Borys Budka.
– Here there is experience, people, the best specialists. It was a natural step for the ministry to be located in Silesia, said Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański.

The creation of the Ministry of Industry was one of the 100 priorities of the Civic Coalition, and Prime Minister Donald Tusk talked about it in his exposé.
–I am convinced that Silesia can again become the industrial heart of not only Poland, but also Europe. Modern, free from any bad past. Prof. Marzena Czarnecka, an outstanding specialist, among others, from energy issues, a woman from there will be responsible for the construction of this ministry as soon as possible. It will also coordinate activities for Silesia, to use funds for a just transformation – said Donald Tusk.
