Measuring 182 meters, the figure towering over India is the tallest monument in the world. The unveiled monument depicts Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, who is considered the Founding Father of India. The facility is located on Sadhu Island, in the western state of Gujarat.
Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel was the Deputy Prime Minister and one of the leaders of the Hindu independence movement. The monument unveiled in his honor was called the Statue of Unity. Together with the three-story building that serves as the plinth, the monument measures 240 meters. The designer of the building is the Indian sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar. Part of the sculpture is an observation deck located at an altitude of 153 meters. It will be opened to tourists on November 3 this year. It is expected that up to 15,000 people will visit this place daily. people.
An exhibition hall, a tourist center and hotel rooms were built in the building located under the statue. Bridges and paths were also built in the vicinity, connecting the monument with the river flowing nearby.
