Martyna Czyrniańska talks about returning to the national team
Martyna Czyrniańska has been the strength of the Polish team for years. Although the host will only turn 20 next month, she has already established herself as a leading player in her field in the country. Health problems related to her stomach prevented her from playing at the European Championships, which ended with a defeat in the quarterfinals. As she admits in an interview with TVP Sport, she was worried about her recovery. The new player of Eczacibasi Stamubuł appreciated her teammate, Martyna Łukasik, who suffered a similar injury last year and missed the world championships.
– I regenerated, everything is great. I’m one hundred percent ready. That was the plan, for me to rehabilitate myself calmly, to help the team as much as I could in the qualifying tournament, said Czyrniańska. – I think we didn’t get the worst shot. The United States is not in top form this season, but we know what this national team can do. We won the bronze medal match against them in the VNL, so I think we can be positive. We haven’t played against the Italians in this lineup before. At the beginning, however, we have to focus on the first matches – added the 19-year-old about the upcoming tournament.
The Polish women will play against the Slovenians
Polish volleyball players will start their Olympic qualifying tournament with a match against Slovenia. The clash with the team led by the former coach of the White and Reds, Marco Bonitta, will start on Saturday, September 16, at 5:30 p.m. in the Atlas Arena in Łódź.
