Not only did she impress in terms of sports, but she also revealed when she would end her career.

The women’s 400-meter race featured Kornelia Lesiewicz, Kinga Gacka, Tereza Petrzilkova, and the two Polish athletes mentioned earlier. The winner in the first round was Popowicz-Drapała, who crossed the finish line with a time of 52.14 seconds. It was a special moment for her because she improved her personal best result at this distance by as much as 8 hundredths of a second. What’s more, she did it at the age of 35, which makes it even more impressive. Overall, Lieke Klaver was the best with a result of 50.57 seconds.
The Polish runner’s record also became the subject of a conversation between her and a reporter from Polsat Sport, where the Copernicus Cup was broadcast. The journalist and runner quickly moved on to the issue of goals for the current season, and in this respect Popowicz-Drapała did not even hesitate. – I do not hide the fact that these are the Olympic Games. This will be my last dance – said the experienced athlete about the approaching end of her career.
In her adventure with sport, the 35-year-old did not achieve many spectacular successes in individual competitions. However, she performed well in team events, especially in the women’s 4×400-meter relay. This is where she won bronze in the European Indoor Championships in 2023 and silver in the European Games. She also took 2nd place in Munich at the Old Continent Championships in Munich (2022) and two 3rd places in the same events in Barcelona (2010) and Helsinki (2012).
