Zbigniew Boniek surprised with his statement. This is about the EURO 2024 draw
The Polish national team got to know its possible rivals in the group stage of EURO 2024. If the White and Reds win the promotion play-offs, they will fight against the Netherlands, Austria and France in Germany. Zbigniew Boniek asked for his opinion about the group. In a humorous way, he referred to the famous words of the vice-president of the Polish Football Association, Henryk Kula.
Polish players do not know yet whether they will appear on German pitches in June 2024. Michał Probierz’s players must win the promotion play-offs. In March, they will face Estonia at home, and then the away final with the winner of the Wales-Finland clash. Only after these matches will the players be able to think about the clashes with the Netherlands, Austria and France.
Zbigniew Boniek surprised with his statement regarding the EURO 2024 draw
Unlike the previous editions of the European Championships, it is safe to say that Poland (possibly) was placed in one of the two groups of death in the upcoming tournament. France is the 2018 world champion and the 2022 runner-up, whom the White and Reds faced a year ago in Qatar. The Netherlands is also considered the world’s leading team. We saw their strength during the Nations League. In turn, Austria has made great progress under the leadership of current coach Ralf Rangnick, who recently managed Manchester United.
Even before the Poles failed to secure direct promotion to EURO 2024, the statement of the vice-president of the Polish Football Association, Henryk Kula, became loud. Włodarz stated in an interview for “Przegląd Sportowy” that Poland will appear at the German event “with the help of our hostess, Our Lady of Częstochowa.” Internet users and experts often referred to the statement, stating that the Touchstone team had no choice but to pray.
After the groups were drawn, Zbigniew Boniek referred to Kula’s statement. The former PZPN manager jokingly said that “if we get through the play-offs (hopefully), we will join the group of the president of Kula, i.e. only Our Lady of Częstochowa can save us.” It is easy to guess that the post was intended to be a sarcastic taunt to Henryk Kula.
Poland can play at EURO 2024
