The Oferteo platform presented the latest data on user queries in the 10 most popular service categories. In the fourth quarter, the largest increase, compared to the same period of 2022, was recorded in the category related to house construction and renovation. The last quarter also maintained an unfavorable trend for representatives of the renewable energy industry. A big surprise, compared to last year, is the decline in interest in the accounting category.
The “Service Barometer” was created based on Oferteo data obtained from the number of queries from platform users. The percentage data shows the dynamics of changes in the fourth quarter of 2023 for the ten most popular categories available on the platform.
The construction boom is in full swing
And I mean that literally, because it has been going on for the second quarter in a row. This is still the result of the government support program “Safe 2% Credit”. and the fact that the funds available under it were to end at the beginning of 2024. As a result, in the fourth quarter, platform user queries for the “house construction” category increased by as much as 100%. compared to the same period of 2022. Renovation services came in second place with a 32% increase in inquiries, followed by the facades and insulation category – with a 7-point increase.
– The end of the year was a signal for many investors that funds under the government support program were running out – and in fact, from January 2, 2024, banks stopped accepting applications related to the “Safe 2% Loan”. However, the fourth quarter was a period of stabilization and other categories, which were usually characterized by dynamic jumps in interest throughout the year, slowed down their growth. This applies primarily to looking for the services of electricians, gardeners or air conditioning installers.
The renewable energy industry is in the red for another quarter
The heat pump market slowed down dramatically at the end of 2023. This is visible both in the data regarding sales of the devices themselves and assembly services. Among the 10 categories presented in the “Services Barometer”, the largest decline again concerns heat pumps. From October to December, the number of inquiries about the services of specialists in this area decreased by 44%. compared to the same period of 2022. First of all, this is not the time for this type of products, and the demand for them will return to normal at the beginning of Q2 2024.
Photovoltaic panel installers also received fewer orders in the fourth quarter. The number of inquiries about services in this category was 11 percent higher. lower than last year.
