This is not how Polish jumpers imagined the beginning of the World Cup. In the first competition in Lillehammer, the trio advanced to the final series. What will it be like on Sunday? We advise you where and when to watch the online TV broadcast of this event.
Polish jumpers finally want to break through in the World Cup. No one could have imagined a scenario in which the best red and white jumper would only take 24th place in the general classification. Alarm sounds can be heard everywhere, but it is not known whether it will change anything in the results of the ski jumpers led by Thomas Thurnbichler.
Polish jumpers want to improve their results in the World Cup
The beginning of the World Cup season is marked by the dominance of Austrians and Germans. The phenomenal form of the representatives of both nations causes voices to be raised about technological advantage. This was mentioned, among others, by the president of the Polish Ski Association, Adam Małysz. Stefan Kraft particularly shines, as he has not yet left the top step of the podium.
During Saturday’s competition in Lillehammer, for the first time this season, three Poles advanced to the second part of the competition – Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła and Paweł Wąsek. Aleksander Zniszczoł made a weak jump, and Dawid Kubacki was seriously affected by the weather conditions, which is why he did not fly far.
Sunday’s competition will be another opportunity to atone for poor results. If Małysz’s predictions are confirmed, Poles may still have problems breaking the Austrian-German duopoly. Apart from Kubacki, Piotr Żyła (17 points) is also in the top 30 of the World Cup, just below his teammate in the classification.
