Nikola Grbic will leave the Polish national team training camp. Reason given
Polish volleyball players are preparing for the Nations League and the Olympic Games. However, coach Nikola Grbic will have to leave the white and red team for a while. We know the reason.
The Polish national team started its training camp in Spała. Our volleyball players are preparing for one of the most important national team seasons in their careers. The Olympic Games will be held in Paris in 2024, and the Polish team is one of the favorites for the gold medal. Unfortunately, in recent years we were unable to get through to the quarter-finals.
Nikola Grbic will leave the Polish national team training camp
For now, the white and red team in Spała has a reduced squad, because some of our volleyball players have not finished the season yet – e.g. Tomasz Fornal, Norbert Huber and Jakub Popiwczak will fight in the Champions League final on Sunday, May 5, for the first gold medal in history, and some One of the players who fought in PlusLiga until the end was given time off.
Interia journalists learned that Nikola Grbic will leave the training camp in Spała for a moment and go to Turkey, where he will watch the actions of his players against Itas Trentino in the Champions League final. – I will watch the match in Antalya, just like I was in Turin last year – says the Serb.
– It's clear that I support Jastrzębski Węgiel because I would like the Polish team to win. To continue the series of four titles in a row for Polish teams – he added.
Nikola Grbic remembers the Champions League final with ZAKSA
This is another Polish team in the Champions League final. For the last four years in a row, we have watched at least one team at this stage of the competition. This year it will be Jastrzębski Węgiel, and last year they faced Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle for this trophy. However, it was the latter who had the upper hand. In the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, the team from Kędzierzyn also entered the final and won it.
It is worth noting that in 2021, ZAKSA won the first title under the leadership of… Nikola Grbic. – It was a long time ago. I'm proud of it. Just like I'm proud of the guys who continued it over the years. And today we have a Polish team fighting for this trophy again – he concluded.
