Łukasz Gibała has a problem before the second round of elections. A report was submitted to the prosecutor's office

At the end of the campaign before the second round of elections for the mayor of Krakow, a complaint was submitted to the prosecutor's office against the Kraków for Residents Association and KWW Łukasz Gibała – Kraków for Residents. Gibała's staff reacted quickly.
Tomasz Leśniak, an activist of the New Left and a new councilor elected from the KO list, filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office against the Kraków for Residents Association and KWW Łukasz Gibała – Kraków for Residents, Interia reported. This concerns the possibility of committing a crime consisting in granting and accepting a non-monetary benefit prohibited by law.
A free leaflet is the basis for notification. “Displays the features of electioneering”
The basis for the notification is a free newsletter. “The magazine was distributed on a wide scale, including: in service premises throughout Krakow during the election campaign and contains content of an electioneering nature, including, among others: elements of KWW Łukasz Gibała's program and the results of an election survey conducted by Opinia24 on behalf of KWW Łukasz Gibała. However, the leaflet does not contain the designation of the election committee,” wrote Tomasz Leśniak.
In his opinion, “there is a significant suspicion that KWW Łukasz Gibała received a non-monetary benefit” from the above-mentioned association “in the form of content creation, printing and marketing on a large scale.” Tomasz Leśniak also added that the content of the newspaper “displays the features of electioneering for a specific presidential candidate.” He also noted that he submitted the notification pursuant to Art. 304 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which contains a provision on the social obligation to notify the services when you have knowledge of the commission of a crime prosecuted ex officio.
Łukasz Gibała's electoral staff reacts. “Element of an aggressive negative campaign”
Łukasz Gibała's election team commented on the matter. “We don't understand what the problem is. The newspaper of our association has been published since March 2016, it is a continuous publication – initially a quarterly, for a long time a bimonthly – with the ISSN number 2657-4977. The current issue is already number 40. We saw neither the need nor the sense to suspend its publication due to the ongoing election campaign. The last issue contains content similar to the previous ones, without elements of electioneering,” we read in the response sent to Interia.
“We treat the notification submitted by Tomasz Leśniak, councilor-elect elected from the Civic Coalition, who had already made accusations against Łukasz Gibała based on half-truths and manipulation, as an element of an aggressive negative campaign, conducted for a long time, among others. by the circles gathered around the KO candidate for president,” it concluded.
