Krzysztof Głowacki appeared in the media headlines in an unfavorable light. There was information in the media about a positive anti-doping test result after the fight with Richard Riakporhe. The Pole decided to comment on the whole matter on social media. He wants to defend his name.
For years, Krzysztof Głowacki was considered one of the best Polish boxers. The former WBO world champion in the cruiserweight category said goodbye to boxing in favor of mixed martial arts. However, in 2023, he fought against Richard Riakporhe, which he lost by TKO. Almost a year after the event, information regarding an anti-doping test came to light.
Krzysztof Głowacki reacts to information about doping
The fight took place on January 21, 2023, and the British Anti-Doping Agency informed the Pole on April 6. It leaked to the media only now, at the beginning of January 2024. Therefore, since April last year, Głowacki has been suspended as a professional boxer. The penalty does not apply to mixed martial arts matches.
The person concerned himself referred to the whole matter a few hours after the commotion broke out. Głowacki defends his name on social media. He declares that he has always been an advocate of a clean fight and that he agreed to doping tests without any problems. He stated that the detected drug – boldenone – did not affect his endurance capabilities, and he learned about the whole matter with a delay, because he terminated the contract with the current promoter right after the fight.
“Throughout my entire career, I have not used any prohibited means. A few months after the fight with the Englishman, I read an e-mail regarding the detection of trace amounts of the metabolite of boldenone in a urine sample. Sample B was never tested, nor was I subjected to any other tests. In conclusion, I would like to emphasize once again that I have never consciously taken any prohibited substance and I would like to make this clear,” Głowacki wrote on social media.
