Iga Świątek's tamer commented on her win. It talks about happiness and stress

Linda Noskova was on the lips of all tennis fans. The young Czech defeated Iga Świątek. After the match, she still didn’t realize what she had done.

The match between Iga Świątek and Linda Noskova had only one favorite. It was the world’s first rocket. The Pole was leading after the first set and it seemed that she would do her part in the second and probably advance further. Meanwhile, the 19-year-old tennis player surprised her opponent, who was three years older, and triumphed 3:6, 6:3, 6:4.

Iga Świątek’s tamer comments on the unexpected victory

Noskova has not yet achieved any success in adult WTA tennis. Her only achievements are triumphs in the ITF or victory in Roland Garros juniors three years ago. However, in the match against Świątek she played like a seasoned player. Despite the defeat in the first set and several near-goal situations in the next ones, the Pole put up brave resistance. She later admitted that the 19-year-old’s breakthrough surprised her and, as a result, she lost control of the match.

The Czech remained calm even when she was playing a game for promotion. She was able to serve a service ace and then force the Pole to play a throw-in, resulting in a huge triumph. Noskova fell to the ground with emotion as if she had won the entire tournament. Right after the end, she did not hide her emotions. She didn’t know exactly what to say, because the victory over Świątek was also a huge surprise for her.

– I have no words. I knew it would be an amazing match with the world number 1 and a player like that. I didn’t think it would end like this. I’m very happy that I managed to get through this round, Noskova said right after the match. Later (for wtatennis.com) she was more talkative. “Many times I played against a top 10 player and – let’s say 100% of the time – I said: ‘I have nothing to lose, I’ll just go there and try to play my best.’ I felt like I was a little stressed this morning, which doesn’t happen to me very often. I knew it meant a lot to me, said the 50th WTA tennis player.
