Here is the latest general classification of the Nations Cup. The shameful achievements of Poles
The general classification of the 2023/2024 Nations Cup does not look good for the Poles. The bad results did not bring the expected points, which is why the White and Reds are in a very low position. Poland is ahead of, among others, Finland or Switzerland.
The situation of Polish ski jumpers is, to say the least, uninteresting. Thomas Thurnbichler assures that despite poor results at the beginning of the season, better times will come and the players are making the expected progress from training to training. Dawid Kubacki and Piotr Żyła scored points in both Ruka and Lillehammer, and in the first competition in Norway they were joined by Paweł Wąsek and Kamil Stoch. It is no wonder that the results in the Nations Cup are not optimistic.
Poles’ achievements so far in the World Cup
The Polish national team entered the World Cup with the following members: Dawid Kubacki, Piotr Żyła, Kamil Stoch, Aleksander Zniszczoł and Paweł Wąsek. The first competition in Ruka reflected the big problems of Thomas Thurnbichler’s team, which was best evidenced by the performance of the three-time Olympic champion. The 36-year-old from Ząb did not qualify for one of the competitions, which shocked fans all over Poland.
The Austrian coach decided to replace Aleksander Zniszczoł with Maciej Kot, who will join the team from the competition in Klingenthal. The 28-year-old will play in the Continental Cup. Dawid Kubacki and Piotr Żyła take 24th and 25th place in the general classification, respectively, collecting 27 and 23 points. Paweł Wąsek is 33rd with eight points, and Kamil Stoch has only three. This gives a total of 61 points.
This is the latest general classification of the Nations Cup
The Austrians are leading in the general classification of the Nations Cup. This is primarily due to the amazing Stefan Kraft, who has won all previous World Cup competitions, but also to Jan Hoerl, fourth, and Daniel Tschofenig, fifth. Germany is in second place, which was largely due to the results of Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger and Pius Paschke. Rounding out the podium are the Slovenians, three of whom: Peter Prevc, Timi Zajc and Anze Lanisek, are 10th, 11th and 12th, respectively, in the general World Cup standings. Poles are in eighth place.
