Adrian Aciobanitei is one of the volleyball players who appeared in PlusLiga at the same time as the opening of the 2023/24 season. The representative of Romania is a player of PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów, quickly becoming an important player in the team. After a few weeks of playing in Poland, the player compliments the level of league competition.
PlusLiga has been considered the leading league in the world for several years now. This is also confirmed by the results achieved by Polish clubs in European cups. Suffice it to say that the last three European Cups went to Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
Adrian Aciobanitei impressed by the level of PlusLiga
Last weekend, in the national classic, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów defeated PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów in three sets. After the meeting, a longer interview with Bełchatów volleyball player Adrian Aciobanitei was published. The Romanian told a little more about the competition he entered before the start of the 2023/24 season.
– The level of competition is amazing. This is definitely one of the hardest and best leagues in the world. I am very happy that I play in Poland and that I can prove myself in a league with such a good level (…) In recent years, Poles were world champions, now they are also European champions and winners of the Nations League. Next year, the Polish national team will fight for victory in the Olympic Games. When I look at everything that is happening in Poland when it comes to volleyball, I am very impressed and I congratulate the Poles on such a high level of play – we read in an interview with the Romanian volleyball player on the official website of PlusLiga.
It is worth adding that Aciobanitei has played in leagues in France and Germany in the past. He quickly found his place in Bełchatów, and we wrote about his move to Poland before the start of the new season, in the category of “non-obvious transfers” to PlusLiga.
Jastrzębski Węgiel is at the top of the league table
After nine rounds played with a complete set of victories, the current Polish champion is in the leading position. The volleyball players of Jastrzębski Węgiel are four points ahead of Projekt Warszawa, second in the hierarchy, and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, third in the ranking, by six points. The mentioned team from Bełchatów is currently in thirteenth position, but still has a match to play.
