Zuckerberg on cage fighting. “Elon Is Not Serious”
At the end of June, information about the fight between technology industry leaders circulated in the world media. A few days ago, Elon Musk confirmed the cage fight. However, Mark Zuckerberg suggested that the clash would not take place.
“I’m ready for a cage fight if he is there, lol” was Elon Musk’s entry, which started talks about a clash between the owner of X and his main competitor – Mark Zuckerberg. “Just tell me where,” replied the head of Meta.
Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. What’s next for the fight?
Negotiations related to the rules and location where the billionaires’ duel will take place have been ongoing since the end of June. On Friday, August 11, Elon Musk announced that the fight would be organized by private foundations belonging to both entrepreneurs, and not – as initially assumed – the largest American mixed martial arts federation UFC.
Owner X also announced that the clash will be broadcast live, both on his platform and on Meta. The event will be styled after ancient Rome, and all proceeds will go to helping veterans and supporting pediatric hospitals in Italy. “I talked to the Prime Minister of Italy and the Minister of Culture. They agreed on an epic location,” Musk wrote.
Musk’s injury. A fight in a few months?
In a comment under his post, one of the Internet users asked about the results of the MRI examination he mentioned in connection with his spine injury. The billionaire assured that the cervical spine injury would not be a problem. However, MRI showed other damage. “There is a problem with my right shoulder blade rubbing against my ribs, which requires minor surgery. Recovery will only take a few months, he assured.
On Saturday, August 12, Mark Zuckerberg responded to the words of owner X. “I love this sport and I have been ready to fight since the day Elon challenged me. If he ever agrees to a specific date, you’ll hear about it from me. Until then, please assume that everything he says has not been agreed,” he said.
Mark Zuckerberg answers. “Time to Move On”
A day later, the owner of the Meta conglomerate presented his detailed position on the Threads platform. “I think we can all agree that Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on,” Zuckerberg began. “I proposed a specific date. Dana White offered to make it a legal charity competition. “Elon doesn’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now instead asks to do a practice round in my backyard,” he continued.
“If Elon ever gets serious about a specific date and official event, he knows how to contact me. Otherwise, it’s time to move on. I will focus on competing with people who take this sport seriously,” concluded Mark Zuckerberg.
