Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle has had no equal in Europe in recent years. The team won the Champions League three times in a row. It is already known that he will not repeat this feat, because the Koziołki lost in the quarterfinal play-offs to Halkbank Ankara. Among the Polish clubs, only Jastrzębski Węgiel remained in the game for the trophy.

ZAKSA cannot consider the club's season a success either. He is still fighting to play in the play-offs. Previously, due to its poor position, it did not reach the quarter-finals of the Polish Cup. Tuomas Sammelvuo was reprimanded for poor results. The Finn, the architect of last year's success, resigned from his position. He was succeeded by his previous assistant, Adam Swaczyna. Piotr Szpaczek is no longer in the club and was dismissed as the club's president.

Nikola Grbic unexpectedly referred to the issue of confusion in ZAKS. When asked by sport.pl about the situation in the club where he worked years ago, the coach said that he received a call from a person associated with the Koziołki asking for help. However, he could not return to the club because his work in the Polish national team prohibits him from serving as a coach in PlusLiga. However, the Serb defended the dismissed Sammelvuo.

– One of the sponsors contacted me. They knew I couldn't come back, but it was such a cry of despair. They were desperate. They didn't know what to do. Unfortunately, it is usually the coach who pays the highest price in such situations. Of course, he bears some responsibility, but I don't think he can be held responsible for what happened, Grbic said.
