Verbal fights, controversies and accusations. There is a dispute between the coaches of Legia and Piast

Legia Warszawa lost points in the PKO Ekstraklasa for the second time in the season. Kosta Runjaic’s players drew with Piast Gliwice. After the match, the most popular topic was not the sports rivalry, but criticism by correspondence from the coaches of both teams.

PKO Ekstraklasa resumed play after the international break. The matches of the Polish team did not inspire optimism, so fans of domestic teams are hoping for an improvement in their mood this weekend. Legia Warszawa, which started the season successfully, lost points for the second time. This time, Piast Gliwice deprived them of their full pool. The team from Silesia won a 1-1 draw in front of their home crowd.

Controversy between Kosta Runjaic and Aleksandar Vukovic

The match was full of fights, but also controversy. The situation at the end of the first half made a lot of news when Josue received a second yellow card. The Portuguese was fouled by Aleksandros Katranis, but referee Damian Sylwestrzak assigned the foul to him. Legia had to play with ten players for most of the match, which certainly contributed to the loss of a goal in the second half and, consequently, the lack of a win.

Although after the match Sylwestrzak apologized both to the Legionnaires in the locker room and to the fans on TV, he could not change anything. The nervous atmosphere of the meeting affected the teams’ staffs. As many as two representatives of Legia – team manager Konrad Paśniewski and assistant Przemysław Małecki – had to leave the bench.

After the match, both Kosta Runjaić and Aleksandar Vuković blamed each other. It went, among others, about words between men during the match, as well as the latter’s failure to shake hands after the final whistle. – Vuković didn’t shake my hand after the match, he disappeared. I am disappointed because he showed me disrespect, which is simply due to the opponent,” said the Legia coach, quoted by TVP Sport. – I am surprised by such words. This is Mr. Runjaic’s opinion. I won’t look for him around the stadium to shake his hand every time – Vuković replied when it was his turn to hold a press conference.
