There are “granny” details. We learned the specifics
The government's list of legislative works includes details of the new care benefit announced by the Civic Coalition.
The project provides for three types of benefits, including subsidies for care of children aged 12-15 months in the amount of PLN 1,500. The bill is intended to introduce into the legal system three benefits supporting parents in professional activity and in raising and developing a small child: “active parents at work”, “active parents in the nursery” and “active parents at home”.
New benefit
The “active parents at work” benefit will be addressed to professionally active parents of children aged 12 to 35 months. The act will define the professional activity that entitles you to receive this benefit.
Parents will be entitled to PLN 1,500 per month for a period of 24 months from the 12th to the 35th month of the child's age. It will be up to the parents what they will spend these funds on – they will be able, for example, to finance the care provided by the grandmother (including a pensioner) on the basis of an activation contract.
If you use an activation contract, the contributions from this contract will be additionally financed. This will enable annual indexation of the pension amount of the person employed under this contract. Instead of the current subsidy of up to PLN 400 for a child's stay in a nursery, children's club or day care provider, the “actively in the nursery” benefit will be introduced.
1,500 PLN “grandmother's”
This benefit will amount to PLN 1,500, no more than the fee the parent pays for the child's stay in the care institution. However, the “actively at home” benefit will support parents of children aged 12 to 35 months who are not entitled or do not voluntarily decide to use the two benefits described above. This applies to situations where the parents remain professionally inactive or their child does not attend a care institution.
The “actively at home” benefit will be available on the same terms as the current family care capital, but in the amount of PLN 500 per month for 24 months. It will not be possible to receive the benefit of PLN 1,000 for 12 months, as is the case now.
