The list of companies that imported grain will be a "list of shame for some parties", says Kołodziejczak

This will be a list that will also be a list of shame for some political parties – said Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczak in “Fakty po Faktach”, referring to the list of companies that imported Ukrainian grain. – This is extreme irresponsibility, lack of basic knowledge, opening these borders without quotas, which could have been a certain brake and restriction – railed Kołodziejczak in the TVN24 studio.

On Tuesday, farmers will begin lockdowns in nearly 100 places across the country. They demand, among other things: limiting or even stopping imports of agricultural goods from Ukraine and withdrawing from the European Green Deal. Here we write where you can expect road disruptions tomorrow.

List of companies importing grain from Ukraine. When will we meet her?

Farmers resent the government for still receiving cheap goods from Ukraine, especially grain, on the Polish market. For months, they have been demanding the publication of a list of companies that imported food from Ukraine, disturbing the market. Its disclosure was promised in the fall of 2023 by the then Minister of Agriculture, Robert Telus, but this never happened. A few days ago, a mysterious list appeared online, listing the names of 500 companies that allegedly imported grain from Ukraine. Its authenticity has not been confirmed.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski admitted that he had read the list. – It may not be entirely true, but a large part of the data there is true – said the head of the ministry.

A few days ago, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Michał Kołodziejczyk promised that the official list would be published this week. – If it were possible to publish how much grain was brought from Ukraine, it would be shocking information. I think some people would get to know their neighbors – he said on Polsat News.

Kołodziejczak confirms: I have this list

He added that the list included farmers. – We will get to know the companies operating in the neighborhood, which announce that they only sell Polish goods. This will be an uncomfortable truth that some people wanted to hide, he emphasized.

On Monday, he was asked again on TVN24 about the publication of the list. Yes, there is determination, there is will, I have a list. I need just a moment. This is only for technical reasons. I don’t have it yet because I’m still analyzing it all, said Kołodziejczak. – For various reasons, purely technical as I say, it was prolonged, but that’s okay. This will not escape us. I think we have more important issues today that need to be resolved

Former Minister of Agriculture Artur Balazs, who was present in the studio, suspects that the list was not made public because “it must be awkward for some politicians.”

According to the former Minister of Agriculture, “this is extreme irresponsibility, lack of basic knowledge, opening these borders without quotas, which could have been a certain brake and restriction.”

– We are a border country and at the moment this applies primarily to Poland, because it is easiest to push production there, but this will soon apply to the entire (European) Union. If the EU does not wake up, these protests are not accidental. These farmers did not go out for a walk, they defend their farms, their families, their interests. If the EU does not wake up, the European Commission, because I do not believe in Commissioner Wojciechowski here, his knowledge and competences will not solve this problem, the consequences for Europe will be very heavy and it will arouse enormous reluctance among such a large group as farmers in Europe. – Balazs said.
