Law and Justice has started the work of the Work Team for Poland. At the first meeting, the development of the Central Communication Port was discussed. The meeting was chaired by Jarosław Kaczyński and Mateusz Morawiecki.

CPK is not megalomania

In the public space, especially after the change of government, more and more opinions appeared that the construction of the Central Communication Port was megalomania. Maciej Lasek, Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, spoke about it again. Marcin Horała, former government plenipotentiary for CPK, commented on this type of opinion at a meeting of the Work Team for Poland.

– CPK, it will be the 10th or 12th place in Europe. The question is whether advancing from the fourth ten is megalomania? I would like to be even more ambitious – he said, showing a graph of the data. The former government representative also commented on the profitability of railway investments related to the CPK.

– It’s simple physics, moving a kilogram of goods by rail transport is cheaper than by road transport – said Marcin Horała.

The former deputy minister and government plenipotentiary for the CPK also summarized the current state of work on the construction of the Central Communication Port. As he admitted, the activities are very advanced, but they have been slowed down.

– All formalities and consents required for the construction of the airport, the heart of this system, including the largest environmental decision in history, have been fulfilled. Unfortunately, the Masovian Voivode is delaying the decision on the building permit. I turned to Minister Kierwiński because he should charge the voivode a fine of PLN 500 a day – said Marcin Horała.

– We already have 450 km in the design phase and over 1,000 km in the research stage. We have already raised over half a billion euros for CPK projects. The train called CPK is already on its way. All the driver needs to do is keep an eye on him and he will arrive – he concluded.
