The earthquake in Orlen continues. Wojciech Jasiński loses his position
Orlen’s general meeting of shareholders is underway. We already know the first decision, which was the dismissal of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Wojciech Jasiński.
At 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, the general meeting of Orlen shareholders began. Most likely, today we will meet the acting president, i.e. the temporary successor of Daniel Obajtek. For now, the head of the Supervisory Board has been dismissed. The company’s president is to be appointed as part of a competition, as politicians of the new parliamentary majority, including Prime Minister Donald Tusk himself, have repeatedly said.
Wojciech Jasiński canceled
The first decision taken at the general meeting was the dismissal of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Wojciech Jasiński. The company’s main shareholder, the State Treasury, filed a motion to dismiss the entire Supervisory Board. Jasiński worked in Płock in the years 1972-1986, among others. at the NBP Branch in Płock, at the City Hall, including as a legal advisor at the Tax Chamber. In 1990-1991, he organized local government in the Płock Voivodeship as a Delegate of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Reform of Local Government.
From 1992 to 1997, he worked at the Supreme Audit Office, as director of: the NIK Branch in Warsaw, the Finance and Budget Team, and the State Budget Department. In the years 1997-2000 he was a Member of the Management Board and then the President of the Management Board of the Warsaw-based Srebrna company. He was a Member of the Supervisory Board of Bank Ochrony Środowiska SA in 1998-2000. From September 2000 to July 2001, he held the position of Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Justice. In 2006-2007 he was the Minister of the State Treasury. Since 2001, he has been a member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland (4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th term) as: Chairman of the Standing Subcommittee for the Banking System and Monetary Policy, Chairman of the Economy Committee, Chairman of the Public Finance Committee. He was also a member of the Parliamentary State Treasury Committee.
