Surprising words from a former minister: Young people do not want to have their own apartment
Although many young people dream of their own apartment and take out mortgage loans to “be on their own”, Henryka Bochniarz, founder and chairwoman of the Main Council of the Lewiatan Confederation, believes that Poles today have a different dream.
The former Minister of Industry and Trade in the government of Jan Krzysztof Bielecki argues that based on conversations with her grandchildren, she knows what they expect from the state today.
– I have nine grandchildren and I hear what they say. They don’t want to have their own apartment at all. They want to travel. In one country it is one year, in another two years – says the economist in an interview with “Wprost”.
He adds that “cheap apartments for rent are a great solution.” The Chairwoman of the Main Council of the Lewiatan Confederation is outraged that to rent a 3-room apartment in Warsaw today, you have to spend up to PLN 4-5,000 a month.
