Robert Lewandowski spoke out after the lost season. A strong blow for Barca
FC Barcelona clearly lost the away match against Girona on Saturday 2-4. Thus, Real Madrid became the Spanish champion, sealing their success.
The Royals were by far the best team in the 2023/24 season in LaLiga. In the 34 matches played so far, Real Madrid has won as many as 27, losing only once in the game for league points. The pride of Catalonia has recorded 22 wins, losing five times. It was not enough for an equal fight with the new national champions.

The decisive decisions were made, among others: during the recent El Clasico, lost by coach Xavi Hernandez's team 2-3 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Barcelona additionally faced a challenge after Real's very confident victory on Saturday afternoon in the LaLiga match against Cadiz (3-0). The Catalans knew that to extend any hopes for the Spanish championship, they had to get three points from the promising clash in Girona.
Although after the first 45 minutes it was 2-1 for the Pride of Catalonia, and Robert Lewandowski scored an important goal, in the end only the hosts scored in the second half. Girona dealt with Barcelona, winning an impressive 4-2.
RL9 spoke out after the defeat, which ultimately ruined the chances for… any trophy at the end of the competition.
“We have not achieved the goals that this club and its fans deserve. We have to do better and we will give everything we have to do it. We have to stick together, cullers,” Lewandowski wrote on social media.
Real Madrid close to the double crown?
The Royals from the capital of Spain have a great chance for another great season in their history. After winning LaLiga, Real will aim for success in the Champions League.
The Royals are currently in the semi-finals, after the first match they have a 2-2 draw, taken away from the difficult terrain of Bayern Munich. In the other semi-final pair, Borussia Dortmund will face Paris Saint-Germain. The German team unexpectedly defeated PSG 1-0 in the first match on home soil. Which is a modest but valuable advance before the rematch.
Interestingly, it was in the fight against the French champions that Barcelona was eliminated from the Champions League. After winning 3-2 at PSG, the Pride of Catalonia suffered a defeat in the second leg, losing 1-4.
