On Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance published an announcement on the new maximum property tax rates that will apply in 2024. The maximum tax rates are set each year by the Ministry of Finance, but it is the local government that decides whether it wants to collect them at this amount or at a lower one.

New rates

According to the latest announcement of the Ministry of Finance, the real estate tax will amount to a maximum of PLN 1.15 per 1 m2 of usable area (currently PLN 1.00). The maximum rate for a garage space will increase from PLN 9.71 to PLN 11.17 per m2.

In the case of buildings where business activity is conducted, the maximum rate will increase to PLN 33.10. Buildings in which economic activity involves the provision of health services will increase by PLN 6.76 per 1 m2 of usable floor space (currently PLN 5.87).
