On Wednesday, we informed that the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny company donated PLN 400,000 for the renovation of the church in Wiskitki in the Masovian Voivodeship. The money is to be used to renovate three altars in the temple. However, the company’s statutory goal is not to take care of monuments – even if they are located in the vicinity of Baranów, a commune where a mega airport may be built in the future. However, the future of the airport is questionable.
CPK donated PLN 400,000. PLN for the parish in Wiskitki
The parish priest in Wiskitki informed about the donation.
“It is with great satisfaction that I inform the faithful of the parish of St. Saint Stanisław BM. in Wiskitki, that the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny company based in Warsaw donated an amount of PLN 400,000 for religious purposes to finance the renovation of three side altars (Altar of the Holy Cross, Altar of Adoration of the Holy Trinity by All Saints and Our Lady of the Rosary), located in the church in Wiskitki,” wrote Fr. on Facebook. Dr. Witold Okrasa, parish priest of Wiskitki.
He added that the donation would finance the entire renovation.
Konrad Maksyk, spokesman for CPK, explained in an interview with TVN24 that “CPK, as a responsible investor, wants to carry out tasks in an atmosphere of dialogue and in good relations with residents, which is why it runs a support program for the areas covered by the investment, which applies in particular to the communes of Baranów, Teresin and Wiskitki, which are located in the counties of Grodzisk, Sochaczew and Żyrardów.
This is not the first donation of this kind
He added that “these expenses were provided for in the annual plan of the Social and Economic Program (PSG) of the CPK for 2023, i.e. they were planned many months ago, approved by the Government Plenipotentiary for the CPK.”
– In this specific case, the parish priest in Wiskitki asked the CPK company to finance the renovation of three neo-baroque altars, which are part of a 19th-century historic church. The church building in Wiskitki is listed as a monument – it is part of the region’s cultural heritage. That is why the valuation of the works was prepared by the conservator of monuments and will be carried out under his supervision – said Konrad Maksyk.
The CPK spokesman reminded that as part of these activities, the company has already implemented, among others: purchase of fire extinguishing vehicles for the Volunteer Fire Department in Baranów, Teresin and Wiskitki, renovation and construction of local roads in their area, construction of a helicopter landing pad in the hospital in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, purchase of buses for local transport and renovation of monuments in the investment area.
