Hubert Hurkacz will soon start competing in the World Tennis League. The Pole was assigned to the team with Iga Świątek, Casper Ruud and Caroline Garcia and did not hide his great joy at this state of affairs. Words about the world number one spread widely.
This year’s World Tennis League will start on December 21, and the competition will be hosted by Abu Dhabi. Hubert Hurkacz has performed with Iga Świątek several times and each time their cooperation was fruitful. It’s hard to be surprised by the words of the Wroclaw native, who is happy to play alongside his compatriot again.
Hubert Hurkacz appreciated the opportunity to play with Iga Świątek
The ninth tennis player in the ATP world ranking openly admitted that this promises to be a really interesting competition. This is all due to the selection of teams that have been perfectly cast, thanks to which the competition will be at the highest level. In the first match, the Hawks team, in which Hurkacz plays, will face the Falcons team, consisting of four players: Leylah Fernandez, Jelena Rybakina, Taylor Firtz and Sumit Nagal. The meeting will take place on December 12.
The 26-year-old from Wrocław did not hide his happiness at the opportunity to play alongside Iga Świątek again. In his opinion, every game with a Polish player is a pleasure and a great experience.
– Every performance with Iga is valuable, especially now when we are preparing for the Olympic Games in Paris. During the season, we rarely have the opportunity to play mixed doubles together, so events such as the exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi give us the opportunity to work together, said Hubert Hurkacz.
