Hołownia’s announcement regarding State Treasury companies. “Changes start with ourselves”
Szymon Hołownia announced that representatives of his party will not be on the supervisory boards and management boards of State Treasury companies. “If such people are there today, they will resign,” wrote the leader of Poland 2050 on X.
The current parliamentary majority went to the elections, among others. with the slogan of “depoliticization” of State Treasury companies.
Prof. Sójka resigned from his position at Orlen
In recent days, it has come to light that a lawyer, prof., has joined Orlen’s supervisory board. Tomasz Sójka. He is a friend of Szymon Hołownia, who was a co-organizer of the structures of Poland 2050. However, it should be added that from 2021 he is no longer a member of this party.
On Friday, February 9, Sójka informed the public that he had resigned from the Supervisory Board of Orlen. On the same day, Hołownia’s press conference was held in the Sejm. He said that Orlen was “losing a great specialist”.
– He is an outstanding specialist, a world-class professor of company law and capital market. He found himself on the supervisory board of Orlen after the mess made by the previous team. (…) We were talking yesterday. To be honest, I didn’t know he was in this place because I don’t control the nomination processes (…). Together, we decided (…) that no one would have any doubts about state property and should resign, Hołownia said.
Hołownia: Changes start with ourselves
A few hours later, the leader of Poland 2050 published an entry on X (formerly Twitter), in which he announced that there would be no similar situations in the future.
Representatives of his group will not receive nominations to supervisory boards and management boards of State Treasury companies. Hołownia noted that if “such people are there today, they will resign,” just like Sójka.
“Prohibition on appointing party employees to management boards and company councils. Prohibition on appointing members of parliament and local government officials to management boards and company councils. Prohibition on financing parties by members of management boards and company councils. Changes start with ourselves. No person employed or belonging to Poland 2050 will receive nominations to supervisory boards,” we read in Hołownia’s entry.
