Cataclysm before the Four Hills Tournament. Sandro Pertile spoke up
The Four Hills Tournament is fast approaching. Unfortunately, one of them suffered extensive damage. Are the competitions that take place every year in Bischofshofen at risk because of this? Sandro Pertile spoke on this sensitive issue.
Four World Cup weekends are behind us. The next competition will take place after Christmas and just before the end of December. Then the Four Hills Tournament will begin, which will traditionally take place in Germany and Austria. Recently, however, an article was published in “Kroenen Zeitung” reporting problems on the ski jumping hill in Bischofshofen. Now Sandro Pertile has spoken on this issue.
Sandro Pertile spoke about the ski jumping hill in Bischofshofen
The German daily called what happened at the facility named after Paul Ausserletiner a cataclysm. Huge amounts of snow slid down the entire landing area, and as a result, a significant part of the facility was destroyed. Among other things, the nets that were supposed to keep the snow in the upper part of the hill were damaged. The spaced spans also broke down. Repairs have already started, although there is great uncertainty as to whether the TCS competition in Bischofshofen will be able to take place at all.
– Something like this has never happened before. However, there was a lot of snow and heavy rain. The load has become too great, said Manfred Schuetzenhofer, head of the local ski club.
Now Sandro Pertile, quoted by “Sportowe Fakty”, also spoke on this matter. – We were informed about damage to the nets supporting the snow on the ski jump in Bischofshofen. The Local Organizing Committee and the Austrian Ski Federation are currently working hard to repair the damage. However, the latest information is positive. We are sure that we will experience the final of the Four Hills Tournament and the wonderful competition again on the hill in Bischofshofen – said the World Cup director. Currently, there is no other scenario than organizing competitions on the ski jumping hill. Paul Ausserleitner is not taken into account.
