Buda on disputes regarding a 0% loan: They have to reach an agreement, they promised
Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda summarized the Safe Credit 2% program. He also referred to the 0% loan promised by KO.
The first year in which the 2% Safe Credit program has been in force (since July) is coming to an end, i.e. state subsidies for a mortgage loan for a first apartment. Its functioning was summarized on TVP Info by Waldemar Buda, Minister of Development and Technology.
– We have already signed over 40,000 contracts and over 90,000 applications. It exceeded our expectations, but we are very happy about it – said Waldemar Buda.
Loan 2 percent influenced housing prices?
The head of the Ministry of Development and Technology, responsible for introducing the program, also refuted the allegations that the United Right’s housing idea fueled the increase in apartment prices.
– In 2022, apartment prices also skyrocketed, and no 2% loan. there was no. If we follow the market, apart from 2008, apartment prices have increased every year. This is the specificity of the market. It is no wonder that production costs have increased, and over PLN 120,000 Ukrainians who worked on construction sites left – said the minister.
The minister was also asked whether the loan amount limits, i.e. PLN 500,000. PLN for a single and PLN 600,000. for the family (in both cases with a maximum own contribution of PLN 200,000) are sufficient.
– This is enough in most places in Poland. The exceptions are Warsaw, Kraków and Gdańsk, but real estate in Warsaw has always been the most expensive. But, for example, in Łódź in September, apartments were getting cheaper – rated by Waldemar Buda.
Credit 0 percent
The Civic Coalition, which is the main force of the new parliamentary majority, promised that after winning the elections it would introduce a 0% loan in the first 100 days. However, there is no consensus on this solution within the emerging coalition. The New Left is opposed.
– They have to reach an understanding somehow, because this is a promise of the Civic Coalition. I said from the beginning that a 0% loan means giving away apartments for free and such things are not done – said Waldemar Buda.
