It debuted just less than a week ago, and has already taken second place on the list of the most popular games in Steam history.

Palworld is an action adventure game created by the Japanese development studio Pocket Pair. It debuted less than a week ago, and it can already boast record popularity. In the ranking of games played simultaneously by the largest number of players, Palworld currently ranks second on the list of the most popular games in the history of the Steam platform. At the same time, it was played by a maximum of 1,864,421 people.

Palworld more popular than Cyberpunk 2077

In terms of the record for the number of players playing one and the same game at the same time, only the online game PUBG: Battlegrounds is better than Palworld at the moment, with 3,257,248 players. Palworld is followed by other undisputed hits of the gaming industry, such as the second part of the cult Counter-Strike, the premiere of which has been awaited for many long years, as well as other well-known titles: Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy and Baldur’s Gate 3.

Apart from the record on Steam, Palworld made its debut on the global gaming market with a bang. In just four days since its premiere, Pocket Pair’s production has sold more than six million copies. This is another phenomenon of the gaming industry that is probably not fully understood by some.

What’s going on here anyway?

Palworld is an adventure-survival action game with RPG elements, in which the player observes the action from a third-person perspective. In the game, we travel through a colorful world and catch the title creatures called Pal. Then we use their skills in various ways, in a similar way to the iconic and incredibly popular Pokemon series games. The game by the Japanese studio Pocket Pair allows you to play both solo and in multiplayer online.
