Twilight of garage innovation. “You have to be ready to face the giants”
It is more difficult to innovate today in hiding from the eyes of the big brothers. Each entry in the search engine, each growing trend is immediately noticed by analysts from giant companies.
Such popularity, or as the young say “hype” on AI, no one expected a year ago. Probably everyone who browses the internet has already heard about ChatGPT and OpenAi, which is behind it. In this context, the most talked about are the threats of job loss, machine “awareness”, data interception and the option of dooming the world.
I leave these digressions to experts, philosophers and fans of science-fiction novels. I, on the other hand, on the example of OpenAI, wonder about a different phenomenon – innovations have moved from home garages to the underground of large technological corporations. This is an interesting observation that calls into question the independent emergence of innovations without the participation of big players.
It’s hard to hide from the big players
The conclusions are not clear.
