Warta Zawiercie volleyball player with a serious injury. He will even miss most of the season

Although the national team season has just ended, PlusLiga starts next weekend. Unexpectedly, at the end of preparations, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie has to come to terms with a big loss. One of the volleyball players of a leading Polish club suffered a serious injury, which sentenced him to a break of several months.

Polish fans have had many reasons to be proud in recent months. The volleyball players achieved great successes, so next year we will see two teams at the Olympic Games. The ladies have already resumed competition in the Polish league. Next week it will be time for the men. Clubs have been preparing for the season for many weeks, but only now do they have a full squad at their disposal.

Warta Zawiercie loses a player due to injury

Although the season has not started yet, some clubs are already going through a difficult period due to injuries. In recent days, Jastrzębski Węgiel informed about the injury of Moustapha M’Baye. Due to a finger injury, the center will miss three weeks of the game, which means he will miss the inauguration of the PlusLiga. Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie has to face a much more serious challenge. The club competed this weekend in the Arkadiusz Gołaś Memorial, using Mariusz Schamlewski, borrowed from Gwardia Wrocław.

The fourth team of last season announced on social media that Tomasz Kalembka had suffered an injury. The middle injury is very serious because it involves spine problems. Warta sent the player for tests, which showed the need for surgery and long rehabilitation. It is not known how long the 32-year-old’s break will last, but it will certainly last several months. This means that the player will miss much, if not most, of the season.

“We prefer not to provide such information… Due to a spine injury, we will not see Tomek Kalembka on the pitch in the near future – tests have shown that it will be necessary to perform surgery and rehabilitation, which will last several months. Kali, get well soon!” – wrote Warta on social media.

Warta Zawiercie will compete in the CEV Cup

Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, after taking fourth place in the PlusLiga 2022/2023 season, will compete in the CEV Cup. Due to the limitations of the arena in Zawiercie, the host games in European cups will be played in Sosnowiec.
