As every year, we learned the date of the summer sale in the largest digital computer game store a little ahead of time. This time, however, players are getting ready for unique promotions, as a new serious rival is going to compete with the giant: Epic Games Store (yes, the one from Fortnite).
Epic Games Store, which gives away free games, has already proven that it takes its competition with Steam seriously. Players are therefore preparing for the summer sales of both stores, planned for approximately the same period. A new player on the market may try to attract new customers with truly crazy discounts, and Steam will probably want to respond strongly to the pushing competitor. One thing is certain, players’ wallets will be hit hard again, and game libraries will once again be brimming with new releases.
According to a leak published by the Steam Database Twitter profile, this year’s holiday sale will start on June 25 and will last two weeks. In turn, we obtained a leak about a similar action planned by the Epic Games Store from an advertisement for the Fortnite start screen. The announcement was quickly removed, but the game’s official account confirmed that it would announce the sale date soon.
