The Polish coach takes a dig at Thunbichler's veterans. It talks about the lack of ideas
Aleksander Zniszczoł was the first Pole to reach the podium in the World Cup competition this season. Maciej Maciusiak is happy with the success and at the same time gives points to Thurnbichler's team.
Aleksander Zniszczoł, taking third place during the World Cup competition in Lahti, stood on the podium in this series for the first time in his career. What's more, it was the first podium finish by any Polish representative this season. Compared to previous years, it is difficult to talk about a huge success, but looking at the beginning of the current struggles or the development of the 30-year-old, the third place is good news.
Maciej Maciusiak put a finger into Thurnbichler's staff
The ski jumper from Cieszyn is the unexpected leader of Thomas Thurnbichler's team this season. While most fans expected the great form of Piotr Żyła, Dawid Kubacki and Kamil Stoch, it is Zniszczoł who is doing the best. He appeared in the top ten several times. He was also close to the podium, but he was unable to make two equally good jumps. Fortune finally smiled on him in Finland.
His former coach is pleased with Zniszczoł's form. In an interview with TVP Sport, Maciej Maciusiak openly admitted that he did not expect the 30-year-old to be the leader of the White and Reds. He called it a pleasant surprise. He added, however, that he did not see the team headed by Thurnbichler trying to solve the problem of the poor performance of the rest of the national team.
– The worst thing is that when you look at the others, they are all in a different place. There is no idea from the staff to improve them. Everyone struggles with different problems. They are broken, unequal. You have to be in the middle of the team to know more and relate to it, said Maciusiak.
