Police officers from Szczecin seized large amounts of counterfeit clothing, perfumes, watches and other accessories. The owner of this product has already been convicted of economic crimes.
According to the West Pomeranian Police, officers from the Szczecin Pogodno Police Station together with officers of the Department for Combating Economic Crime of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Szczecin determined that products marked with counterfeit trademarks were stored and then offered for sale at one of the addresses in the Pogodno district of Szczecin.
The police tracked down a counterfeit dealer
The police inspected the place where the counterfeit goods were stored. As a result, almost 1,500 pieces of clothing, perfumes, watches and other products illegally marked with the marks of renowned companies were seized. These items were sold for a much lower price than the original products.
It was estimated that the value of these counterfeit items exceeded PLN 300,000. The illegal goods were seized and its owner will face charges. As it turned out, the 54-year-old had already been convicted of economic crimes several years earlier.
Pursuant to the Industrial Property Law, trading in items with registered and counterfeit trademarks and turning it into a permanent source of income is punishable by imprisonment from 6 months to 5 years. Activities in this case are being carried out by police officers from Pogodno under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office.
