The Pole wanted to fly from Germany to Mallorca. He was taken into custody

The control at the German airport for a Pole who wanted to fly from Hanover to Mallorca ended up being a big surprise. The man was arrested.

The incident happened on Tuesday morning, August 8. During a check at Hannover Airport, Federal Police officers discovered that a man had failed to attend a court hearing in Görlitz in September 2020. Accordingly, the Görlitz District Court issued a detention order in order to ensure that the proceedings could be conducted.

The Pole was due to appear in court on two counts of theft and illegal possession of drugs. “Because of this arrest warrant, the man did not fly to Mallorca on holiday, but was sent to prison,” the German police said in their press release.

The Pole did not go on vacation. He will remain in custody

The man will remain in Hanover until the end of the court hearing against him.

Mallorcamagazin.com reports that there were other arrests at Palma airport over the summer. In July, a man with three forged passports was arrested at Son Sant Joan airport. The man allegedly specialized in stealing vehicles and then exporting them to Eastern Europe.

A similar incident occurred in June. Spanish police officers have arrested a German man who was wanted on an EU arrest warrant for armed robbery. The man probably stole cars in his homeland and then transported them to Poland. There he allegedly sold them illegally. In addition, he was involved in a pursuit in March 2022, but then got out of the car and managed to escape on foot.
