The PlusLiga star didn't bite his tongue. He directly said what he thought about the intensity of the meetings
Jastrzębski Węgiel did not have much time to rest after the match against LUK Lublin, because the team had to quickly go to Gdańsk. Yuri Gladyr did not hide the fact that he did not understand the PlusLiga calendar, mentioning fatigue.
Jastrzębski Węgiel is fighting for another Polish championship. For now, Marcelo Mendez's team is the leader of PlusLiga, but teams from Zawiercie and Warsaw are hot on their heels. After winning 3-0 at home against Bogdanka LUK Lublin, the team from Jastrzębie did not have much time to rest. Several hours after the end of the match, the team was already on their way to Gdańsk, where they will face Trefl Gdańsk on Saturday.
Yuri Gladyr strongly criticizes the league calendar
Just over two days will pass from the start of the match against LUK to the start of the match against Trefl. For players who are tired from playing many competitions, this is a big challenge. Many of Jastrzębski Węgiel's players are national representatives who started the club season almost immediately after the national team competitions.
Even though Yuri Gladyr no longer plays for the national team, he feels his body is tired. In an interview with the “Interia” portal, he admitted that the situation when, after the match ends, one has to go to the other end of the country at dawn the next day is abnormal.
– I have never been silent on this matter. According to many of us, there is too much playing and no one cares about the players' health. It's not normal that we play two days apart on the opposite end of the country, said Gladyr. – I don't remember the last time I felt like this. There is enormous physical fatigue, but also mental fatigue. It's hard to even say which one is bigger. The load of adrenaline and emotions is huge, then it all subsides – added the central player from Jastrzębie.
