The court agreed to liquidate Telewizja Polska SA. Daniel Gorgosz was officially appointed as the liquidator. Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz spoke.
Monday's decision of the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw Warsaw's decision to enter the changes in the National Court Register is different from the decision taken by the court clerk in January. It also puts an end to speculations as to whether the company will go into liquidation.
Why was Telewizja Polska put into liquidation?
The decision to put all public media companies into liquidation was made at the end of December last year. It was undertaken by Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, as the body supervising them on behalf of the State Treasury.
The minister justified his decision by President Andrzej Duda's veto of the budget-related bill, which resulted in, among other things, reducing subsidies for public media by approximately PLN 3 billion.
“In the current situation, such action will allow us to secure the continued operation of these companies, carry out the necessary restructuring and prevent layoffs of employees in the above-mentioned companies. employees' companies due to lack of financing,” he explained then.
Please remember that putting a company into liquidation is not tantamount to its liquidation. The main goal of the activities can be seen in changing the way internal decisions are made.
Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz commented on the court's decision
Now Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz has commented on the court's decision on social media. “The end of the dispute over the validity of the liquidation of the abomination that was PiS television,” wrote the politician.
And further: “Thank you to everyone who helped with this, and to those who defended this pathology, I have only one thing to say: the roller does not argue with the asphalt which way it should go.”
Daniel Gorgosz officially became the liquidator
Daniel Gorgosz, who on Monday was officially entered into the register as “liquidator of TVP SA in liquidation”, also posted a message on the company's website. “This decision does not come as a surprise to us,” we read.
“We operate in accordance with the principles of law, rule of law and honesty. If anyone thought otherwise, they should have no doubts now. Just as there should be no doubt that anyone can get the stamp of the president of TVP, but not everyone can be one,” said the liquidator.
