The Ministry of National Defense is calling on employees of the IT sector – informs the website banker.pl. Programmers and engineers employed in IT companies are receiving the first calls to appear at regional centers. There they are to receive mobilization assignments and cards, and in the event of a war breaking out, they are to report to specific places.
Calling up to the army and remuneration at work
Employees who have been called up for military service do not have to worry about being absent from work. It will be excused, although they will not receive remuneration for that day. They may receive compensation for lost wages.
What do military qualifications mean?
Military qualification is tests that help determine the ability (both physical and mental) for military service. After completing the qualifications, each recruit receives a military category, which indicates the degree of fitness for military service. People who receive category A are fit for military service, and those with category B are temporarily unfit for military service.
The military is calling young men and women
On February 1, 2024, the Ministry of National Defense began military qualification. Men born in 2000-2004 and 2002-2003 received calls if they were temporarily unfit for service due to their health condition.
The army also called on women who perform specific professions useful in times of crisis or war. Nurses, doctors, veterinarians and psychologists received calls.
The call is not equivalent to being drafted into the army. This is only a qualification that allows you to complete procedures in the event of a possible threat. In the event of an armed conflict and the outbreak of war, people with mobilization cards will have to report to specific places.
