Robert Bąkiewicz will run for an MP from the Law and Justice list in the autumn parliamentary elections. The activist, known for his far-right views and numerous controversial statements, will run in the Radom district. The candidacy aroused a lot of controversy.
Reason? Robert Bąkiewicz is the former president of the Independence March Association. During the nationalist marches he organized, there were numerous riots and racist, anti-EU and anti-abortion banners were displayed.

According to Wirtualna Polska’s findings, Robert Bąkiewicz decided to officially become a member of a political party. However, the former head of the Independence March association did not choose the Confederation, with whose views he may be associated, or Law and Justice.
The candidate for MP submitted a membership declaration to Sovereign Poland. Piotr Cieplucha, secretary general of Zbigniew Ziobro’s party, said that the former president of the Independence March association was accepted and is now a full member of the group.
In the past, many warm words were sent to the nationalist from the environment of the Minister of Justice. – He created something great, something big. I don’t see anything where Mr. Bąkiewicz violated any regulations or did anything wrong. I thank him for organizing the independence march. I think this is a very good initiative, commented Michał Wójcik. When asked whether he would see Robert Bąkiewicz in the Sejm, he answered affirmatively.
