New PiS spot. This is how Tusk “answers” to the referendum questions
Law and Justice presented a new election spot devoted to referendum questions. In the form of answers to questions, archival statements of the leader of the PO, Donald Tusk, were used.
In the spot, PiS politicians ask questions, including Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. “Do you support the sale of state-owned enterprises?” asks the chairman of the ruling party. “A change in the contracts should enable the privatization of PLL LOT” – reads the archival answer of Donald Tusk.
Another question about the retirement age is asked by MEP Beata Szydło. “Are you in favor of raising the retirement age, which today is 60 for women and 65 for men?” “I accept raising the retirement age to 67,” says the PO leader.
The question about migrants (“Do you support the acceptance of thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa, in accordance with the forced relocation mechanism imposed by the European bureaucracy?”) is asked by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
“These are poor people who are looking for their place on earth” – is a short answer taken from Donald Tusk’s conference on the border. The last question “Do you support the removal of the barrier on the border between the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Belarus?” asks the head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak. The answer is the PO leader’s opinion that the dam on the border will not be built. Suggested no answers are highlighted for three questions.
The situation on the border is the subject of a referendum
The situation on the border with Belarus and the migration crisis that has been going on for two years will be one of the subjects of the referendum on 15 October. Even before the start of the election campaign, the PiS government regularly attacked the opposition for weakening the border under its rule, and politicians of this party pointed out the inconsistency of the PO leader, who said that the dam on the border with Belarus would not be built.
The pre-election debate between Jarosław Kaczyński and Donald Tusk seems less and less likely. The last time politicians discussed in the “ring” formula was October 12, 2007. At that time, according to commentators, it was definitely won by the leader of the Civic Platform.
