Modern military equipment will come to Poland. Kosiniak-Kamysz announced the contract
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, during a press conference with Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson, announced that a multi-billion arms contract had been signed on Monday.
– The Polish Armed Forces will be enriched with excellent equipment, anti-tank grenade launchers of Swedish production, for which we will allocate approximately PLN 6.5 billion – said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense.
Several thousand Carl-Gustaf M4 anti-tank grenade launchers produced by the Swedish concern Saab Dynamics AB will be delivered to Poland. The same equipment is currently used in Ukraine, where it is supposed to “pass the exam”. In addition, the contract also covers several hundred thousand ammunition and other items necessary for their use.
– The Polish army will be enriched with anti-tank grenade launchers, but also with ammunition, all related infrastructure, training for all those who will later prepare Polish soldiers to use this equipment, as well as a service package, a spare parts package, and simulators – Kosiniak calculated -Kamysz.
Meeting of the defense ministers of Poland and Sweden
This is a continuation of Poland's cooperation with Sweden. – He is a very responsible and good partner – said the Deputy Prime Minister. – I would like to thank the Swedish side for such a professional approach and support for the entire process – he emphasized.
This was not the only thing for which Kosiniak-Kamysz thanked Jonson. – I would like to thank the minister for his declaration that I heard today. The Minister, on behalf of the Kingdom of Sweden, expressed full support for Article Five on the collective defense of the Alliance countries. This is important for the security of Poland, Europe, the world and the entire civilization, said the politician.
A clear declaration was also to be made regarding Ukraine. – We have the same position. We will support Ukraine. The involvement of the European community is necessary for us to live in a safe world. Together, we are also preparing our position for the next NATO summit, said the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Swedish Minister of Defense thanked Poland
The Swedish minister's visit takes place moments after the Hungarian parliament was the last to consent to Sweden joining the North Atlantic Alliance. – Poland and Sweden will not only be partners, but also allies in NATO. I would like to thank you very much for Poland's support of Sweden's accession to NATO. This will certainly strengthen our bilateral contacts, said Pal Jonson.
– We are impressed by Polish investments in defense infrastructure. We know how extremely important it is. Sweden, for its part, will also support Poland not only in its activities in the Baltic Sea region, but also in the entire alliance, declared the Swedish minister.
